Fido's Soup Kitchen is a Program started by the Horse Rescue, Relief and Retirement Fund. Fido's Soup Kitchen provides pet food and supplies to those in need during these difficult economic times. Our goal at Fido's Soup Kitchen is to help families keep their pets rather than give them away or take them to animal control because of lack of food. We believe the best place for the pet is with its family and the best thing for the family is to keep their faithful companion.

We have helped many needy families in the past year or so, but our cupboards are presently bare. We are accepting tax-deductible donations as well as donations of pet foods (canned or dry) as well as any pet supplies, new or gently used. We also take dog houses and fencing supplies.

We have been generously supported by many donators and humane societies in neighboring counties. This is not limited to Forsyth or Cherokee County; we hope to be able to extend this far and wide working with other nonprofit groups and include equine as well.

Fido's Soup Kitchen is dedicated to "Somebody."
Somebody was a bloodhound we adopted from a rural Georgia Animal Control as he was very old, emaciated and unclaimed by his owner. With us at the horse rescue farm, he learned what love is, good belly rubs and good food. On day four, after beautiful day of basking in the sun, being loved by all and a good meal, he peacefully crossed to the Rainbow Bridge. We will miss him dearly and think of him often.

Also we would like to dedicate this site to Bobby Odom's Memorial Fund as we believe if Bobby were here today, he would be greatly involved with Fido's Soup Kitchen due to his love of all animals.
