Winter Hay Drive
Can you help to fund our Winter Hay Drive?
This fundraiser brings in critical funds to the rescue that will be used to purchase quality hay for our 135 rescued horses and other animals throughout the winter months.
Horses Need Hay to Survive
Horses and other animals need nutritious hay especially during the winter months when grass is unavailable.
Since hay makes up the largest part of a horses' diet, it is extremely important to keep our rescue horses warm and healthy.
Hay for 135 Rescued Animals is Expensive
Hay and feed are the largest expenses at Save the Horses And with more than 100 horses and 35 other animals, it's an expensive undertaking with so many mouths to feed.
o A bale of good quality hay costs $20 or more* and lasts 2-3 days for each horse
o A large round bale costs $60 or more*
* Cost fluctuates with availability and weather conditions.
