Save the Horses is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies heavily on the kindness and generosity of others.   Without our network of volunteers and supporters we simply would cease to exist.

​Many opportunities exist for you to help our herd.  Everyone has a unque talent or gift and we hope that you will embrace the opportunity to give back in a way that is convenient, fun, and rewarding.  Below you will find the many different ways that you can help us.
Proceeds from all funds benefit Horse Rescue Relief & Retirement Fund, Inc. (dba Save the Horses), a qualified 501(c)(3) organization.

Volunteer

Every day the horses need to be fed. They needs their stalls cleaned and buckets filled with fresh water. Some horses need special medications, some need training, some need kindness and love. 

If you have no experience, we will teach you. If you have a lot of experience, You can teach us. We don't know everything. We love learning everyday. Horses are here to teach us. Open your heart and join us!

Attend or Volunteer at an Event

One of the ways that Save The Horses earns funds is to hold fundraising events.  We host four large events per year:
  • Spring Egg-Stravaganza in March
  • Charity Horse Show in June
  • Hay Day in October
  • Deck the Stalls in December
​At each of these events we hold activities and solicit vendors, volunteers and donations to help make a memorable experience for supporters.  Please visit our event calendar for a list of upcoming event dates.

Plan & Run a Fundraiser

By raising money for us, you’ll help us to feed and provide medical care for the over 100 horses and other animals that we care for.  The personal fundraising ideas are endless but here are a few of our favorites:
  • Car wash
  • Bake sale
  • Garage sale
  • Charity run or Bike ride
  • Sponsored walk event
  • Set up a Giving page for your birthday and share it with your friends
​Every penny earned makes a difference to the feed and care of our horses.  We'd love to hear your ideas.

Hold a Pony Birthday Party at The Save The Horses Farm

Come out and let the horses give you the ultimate birthday experience!
We would love your Lil' Wrangler to come out and have some fun on his or her Birthday. We have fun parties for all the Buckaroos, big and small. Ride a pony, paint a horse, use the covered pavilion and enjoy the party. 
It's the perfect way to share your birthday with your friends and help out the rescue at the same time!

Give a Gift or Memorial Donation

Looking for a special gift for a birthday, Mother's Day or a memorial?  
Consider making a donation towards the feed and medical care of the animals at Save the Horses on behalf of a friend, colleague or family member. 
They will receive a card acknowledging the donation.  All donations are tax deductible to the exttent allowed by law.  Tax ID: 58-2479748 

Plan Field Trips for Your School, Church or Other Group

Educational Field Trips @ SaveTheHorses are engaging sessions for children of all ages. 
Come and visit the rescue with your school or organization and learn about the history of the farm and some of the animals that live there.  You will also be able to meet and interact with our horses and petting zoo animals.  You will find that this outside class room setting is  fun and very educational.  

Buy a Bag of Feed

Our animals use two bags of feed each day at the Rescue.  Each bag costs about $25.  Triple Crown offers a Buy 12, get One FREE program. We would appreciate any Triple Crown Senior, Lite, Complete, or ProElite. You can purchase Triple Crown at most feed stores.

Monthly Sponsorship for a Horse

It costs about $400 to keep a horse for a month and that does not include medical care.  With over 100 horses and farm animals at the rescue, you can see how easily bills add up.  The rescue has enormous expenses and we rely on the generosity of supporters to feed and care for all of our four legged residents.  Sponsoring a horse in the form of a monthly donation is one way that can help us maintain monthly expenses.

Every horse needs a home. Few moments are more treasured than watching a once starved horse, now healthy and happy, sharing a new home with a loving family. View our list of horses and donkeys, fully vaccinated, all medical work completed, and ready to join you and your family. They need you.

If your employer has matching gifts and you've made a contribution to the Rescue (such as volunteer hours) , please consider asking them to match the gift to our mission.

 One Time Donation - Your Gift Could Save a Life 

The expenses for this rescue are all covered strictly through generous donations and the farm is run by caring volunteers who share their time with these animals. The needs as you can imagine are ongoing, with the expense of food, veterinarian, ferrier,  hay, etc.  These horses go through a tremendous amount of hay each year!

The support you lend to this rescue is not counted in dollars and cents but in the "spirit of caring and making a difference". However, your donation of dollars makes sense, and is what allows this organization to continue to lend a caring hand and patient heart to suffering animals. This rescue takes in horses from Georgia, Alabama, and Florida. Many of these horses are rescued literally before slaughter.  Thank you for supporting the horses.  Your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

For each proof of purchase seal submitted, the Rescue will receive cash.  All you need to do to help is to cut out and submit an original  proof of purchase seal found on the back or side of each horse feed bag, and you can help us raise money for the ​horses.

​Recycle your empty, old or discarded printer, toner cartridges and cell phones all at no cost to you or your organization.
You can help our environment by recycling that generates donations to Save The Horses. For each item received, the vendor sends us a donation.  This is a wonderful way to help the horses and save the environment at the same time at no cost to you.  Thanks very much for supporting the horses in this way!

If you have a truck or trailer, let us know.  There are many times when we need help with transport.

Print Fliers for Our Events

If you have access to a color printer, we would love to have color fliers printed.  Please reach out to our fundraising team if you can do this.

Volunteer to Photograph Our Horses & Events

We are always looking for more professional pictures of our animals and our fundraising events. We especially need volunteers who film and edit professional quality video of our farm and residents.

Donate Fencing Products

Repairing fencing is a constant project at our farm.  If you have access to fencing or have fencing skills, we would love to have your help.

Sponsor Deworming & Vaccine Costs

Parasites are the number one cause of medical colic which can be a catastrophic health expense. Parasites rob horses of nutrients and cause a variety of other health issues. A good deworming program will save most horse owners money in the long run.  A monthly donation of $50 would help defray our cost of deworming and critical vaccinations.
