SaveTheHorses has been using our sling for many years. People sometimes don't call a veterinarian until it's too late. If we can get the horse up, it will stay up and get better. In Cherokee and Milton, GA we are lucky to have a Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue (TLAER) team through the Fire departments. However, most counties do not. And who do you call? We were working with SOS Horse Rescue and we came out to help this horse in Alto GA. Luckily, we found a tow truck willing to help us get the horse up. WHAT WE NEED What we need is people willing to take a class for becoming part of a TLAER team. We also need someone to write a grant so we can send people to the TLAER class in GA. We already have a Large Animal rescue truck. It needs to be totally road worthy, have insurance. and a few people with a CDL to drive it. You can make a difference in a horses life. This can be a life or death situation.
